The Great Migration: Part 2 (Portland to Central Oregon)
New year, new warehouse.
Two years ago, when we moved from our 2000 square foot Southern Oregon space into our new 10,500 square foot Portland location, we were sure we'd have enough space pretty much forever. Cut to barely two years later and we're bursting at the seams. As we started running out of space, we began weighing our options. Hoping not to have to uproot all our staff for a second time, we looked at everything in the greater Portland area, we searched and searched, but between Portland's rising popularity and the fact that spaces between 10,500 square feet and 100,000 square feet are really hard to come by, we weren't having any luck.
One weekend, on a whim, we decided to check out a space we had admired online, but initially passed over because it was 3 hours away from Portland, in the center of Oregon. When we arrived, we were met by a warm juniper-scented high desert breeze and a building that felt like it existed just for us.
Once again we got super lucky, and when we returned to PDX and pitched the idea to our key staff, they were all willing relocate to Central Oregon with us. In total, we brought 5 people to Redmond and we're working on hiring 5 more.
After a *LOT* of paperwork and so, so many truck deliveries, we have landed in our new home. We're exhausted, but we're very happy to be here.
