Here's how it works: the space between the inner and outer flask wall is evacuated, creating a vacuum (well, a partial vacuum anyway...). In order for heat transfer to take place from the outside world into your cold drink, or from your hot drink to the outside world, it needs nearby molecules to excite. If there aren't many molecules nearby, as is the case in a vacuum, the heat's energy can't easily be passed along, so your drink stays close to the temperature it was when you put it into the flask for a really long time.
Simply stated, vacuums make great thermal insulation!

Super high quality printing, gorgeous colors, holds plenty of water so I keep hydrated more than ever. I've had so many compliments at work, and since I'm a teacher, that usually turns into "where do I buy one?" Note that bc of the 3D layered design print, if you're touch sensitive, this could be a particularly amazing or absolute nightmare sensory experience. Personally, I love it.

32 is a great volume - I use it to hold a big smoothie in the morning, then water. Really helps me to drink enough water. Additionally, I was worried the bottle would be too big to fit in my backpack (North Face, Surge 2012). It has probably stretched the side-bottle pocket a bit, but I just try to use the same side. For added security, I put side snaps through metal handle on the lid. The handle, by the way, is the perfect size for me. Never had any leaks! Temperature maintenance is very, very good. Almost too good! If I put a fresh smoothie made with frozen fruit, it's still super cold by the time I get to work (almost 1hr commute) and my steaming coffee is still nearly scalding! I'm very temperature sensitive, so I have to keep this in mind, but I can imagine this is really great for most people. And, once I do have something at the right temperature it usually stays this way. Very durable! I did drop it and my 16oz bottle (Woodland Forest). Both are still super functional, but the 16oz now has a rattling noise in the lid and the handle wiggles back and forth. So very happy with my beautiful bottles! This and the Woodland Forest design have a great tactical feel, but I'd say if you do or don't like lots of tiny dots you need to keep this in mind for the Star Chart. Woodland Forest is fairly subtle. Star Chart is a bumpy EXTRAVAGANZA! Personally, I love it!

I drink more water having a 32 Oz bottle. But unfortunately I can't take it with me when I leave the house, it doesn't fit in my cup holders. At least my water is still cold when I get home.
