We can learn a lot from tree rings. Each ring marks a year in the tree's life that scientists can use to understand how the climate has changed in a region. The dark lines are made in the late summer and fall while the light spaces between are produced in spring and early summer. Rings that are farther apart are made in rainy seasons and lines closer together are made in dry seasons.
The tree rings on this mug are sand-carved by hand for a unique tactile experience.
