- Light the wick and with the burning end tilted toward your paper, allow a pool of wax to collect where you'd like your seal.
- When the pool of wax is almost the size of a quarter, press the stamp into the center of the pool (if it's hot out, it works best to chill the stamp a bit).
- Let the wax cool down for around 20 seconds, or until it has hardened.
- Peel back the stamp and admire your handiwork!

Best gift for a graduating neuroscience major
My good friend just graduated from Millsaps College with a degree in neuroscience and psychology… she also loves stationary! The stamp has a dense metal bottom and - despite being almost double the price you would pay for a generic wax stamp at Michael’s - you can tell it was finely made and something personalized that I could not get anywhere else. This is how I feel about most of the items cognitive surplus has to offer: they are quality items with a fair price tag. This was my gift to her and she absolutely loved it!
