Ammonite Fossil Wax Stamp
This Ammonite Fossil Wax Stamp is the perfect way to elevate your ocean-inspired wedding invitations or paleontology-related correspondence. Despite the resemblance, these ancient ocean-dwelling creatures were more closely related to today's octopuses and squid than they were to the nautilus. They vanished from the oceans in the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event.
These wax stamps make great gifts for people who already have everything, plus they imbue your stationery with some classic science flair.
Each stamp comes in its own kraft box – sealing wax is sold separately so you can pick your signature color!
- Light the wick and with the burning end tilted toward your paper, allow a pool of wax to collect where you'd like your seal.
- When the pool of wax is almost the size of a quarter, press the stamp into the center of the pool (if it's hot out, it works best to chill the stamp a bit).
- Let the wax cool down for around 20 seconds, or until it has hardened.
- Peel back the stamp and admire your handiwork!
